I can’t find many reviews on these but they are super cheap for black friday deals. The polaroid is a lcd 1080p where as the Venturer is a plasma 1080i.

Probably about equal in that they are both third tier junk TVs assembled from god-only-knows what kind of cheap Chinese made parts. They both fall into the group discussed here: http://www.hdguru.com/your-new-disposable-flat-screen-hdtv/107/
If you want a 42" plasma, the very best dollar-for-dollar buy is the Panasonic Viera – and it’s 720p set will blow the doors off the off brand you are looking at! If you want a ‘reasonably priced’ 42" LCD, I suggest you look at the Toshiba Regza, even though the more expensive Sony Bravia is somewhat higher quality.
You can’t go wrong with the 46" Black Samsung! Make sure you get the 1080p. I’m glad you know about it. I bought the Samsung for my room during the summer. Absolutely love it. It’s my most precious item in my room.
